British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies
BAPLA was established in 1975 as a trade grouping of picture libraries in the United Kingdom. Its members include news organizations, cultural institutions, photo stock agencies, production units and individual traders. According to BAPLA, a big share of images seen daily on print and digital media is sourced from its members. The trade association is guided by its objectives which include representing picture libraries and agencies, encouraging best industry practices, lobbying locally and abroad for the industry, developing solutions for copyright in modern times, and expanding the knowledge of the picture community.
